Lara Duda

Lara is an associate attorney at Dutton & Casey, P.C., and focuses her practice on guardianship estates, special needs planning, special needs trusts, Medicaid planning, elder abuse and neglect litigation, mental health law matters, and decedent’s estate and trust administration.

Experience:

Prior to joining Dutton & Casey, P.C., Lara was an associate and summer associate in the health care corporate and regulatory group of an international law firm.

Prior to practicing law, Lara was the director of resource development and communications at an affordable housing development corporation that serves low-income adults, including adults and elders with mental and physical disabilities. She also worked in development and communications at a community-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services for adults and elders with serious mental illness.

  • Juris Doctor, with a certificate in Health Law, from DePaul University College of Law
  • Master of Science in Health Law and Policy, DePaul University College of Arts & Sciences

We now offer video conferencing.  At times, clients are homebound or they have family members who live outside the Chicagoland area.  With this new technology, we are able to serve all of these clients and still offer the opportunity to see each other face to face.

On July 1, 2011, the new Illinois Power of Attorney Act will go into effect. Existing properly executed Illinois powers of attorney will remain valid; however, one may want to consider revising existing powers of attorney to make the most of the amendments to the Act.
